The Rotary Club of Haddonfield collected 72 used bicycles over the weekend for a good cause - Pedals for Progress.
The adult and kids' bikes, all in good condition, were collected at the Haddonfield Farmers Market on Saturday, each with a small recycling donation, and will be shipped to Ghana where Pedals for Progress will distribute them to poor working adults for basic transportation needs. The Rotary Club of Haddonfield also collected two sewing machines, which are much needed in developing countries. Pedals for Progress has shipped more than 120,000 bikes to developing countries over the years. Learn more at www.p4p.org.
Have bikes to donate? We'll be doing it again next October - visit www.haddonfieldrotary.org. Pictured in the attachment from left are Haddonfield Rotarians Jim Pecka, Club President Vince Mayher, and Gloria Crews.
