A message from District TRF Chair PDG Kevin Conway....
The pilot program will run from 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2013, with the current Rotary year as a transition and training year. Many of the details of the pilot program and the Future Vision Plan itself will be developed throughout the course of the next three years, and our district will have the opportunity and obligation to provide feedback to The Rotary Foundation.
During the current Rotary year we have the opportunity to largely define the workings of the Foundation in our district, and in particular, the broad policies related to Foundation district grants and Foundation global grants.
The district leadership, under the guidance of DG Gordon Dalglish and DGE Penny Offer, is particularly keen to receive input and discussion from as many Rotarians as possible regarding the future functions of the Foundation in District 5040. It is your foundation, and you have raised the money to support our local and international humanitarian work.
Accordingly, if you would like to be involved in this process during the current Rotary year, please contact your AG, and indicate your particular interest. It is anticipated that focus groups and other forums will be available for your participation and submissions. There will also be opportunities to serve on the new District Foundation committees, which are yet to be defined.
The Rotary Foundation has planned a two day training session for DGE Penny and Foundation chair Kevin in January, 2010, following which more information will be available. There will likely be a training session for incoming club presidents at PETS in March 2010.
