MISSION OF THE UNITED VETERANS BEACON HOUSE, INC.

TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT RESIDENCE

FOR U.S. MILITARY VETERANS

AND TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY, TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT RESIDENCE

FOR MEN, WOMEN AND WOMEN WITH CHILDREN.

A group of philanthropic Vietnam Veterans opened the first residence in 1994.

UVBH now operates and supports 25 locations in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, including 24 housing units and our headquarters.

Hundreds of men, women and children are served on any given day.

Initially UVBH was formed to work with the homeless veteran population in the Tri State area, and it continues to do so. We work with veterans who come to us with physical disabilities, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injuries, mental health issues and/or alcohol addiction. Years ago we expanded our services to assist the non-veteran population facing homelessness, drug and/or alcohol addiction. UVBH offers job skills development, job placement assistance, survival life skills and financial management training.
