The Okemo Bike Climb is a challenging 5.8 mile uphill bike race on Route 103 and Okemo Mountain Road. The event is based at Jackson Gore Village. This is the second year for this event and is affiliated with the Bike Up Mountain Points Series(BUMPS), a series of nine uphill races held throughout New England. Multiple Sclerosis(MS) has affected 400,000 people in the United States and 2.5 million people worldwide. MS is most often diagnosed in adults between the ages of 20 - 50. It is an autoimmune disease that attacks the myelin sheath whose function is as the protective covering of the nerve cells. This results in disruptions in the ability of nerves to communicate with one another. Through the bike climb we hope to increase community awareness and support research in finding a cure for MS.
