Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly

Dear Rotary Club Presidents & Youth Activities Chair,
It's RYLA time again. We are once again starting the planning process for RYLA 2012, the Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly. This year's event will take place in the mountains of Arrowhead, Friday, April 27-Sunday, April, 29, 2012. We are pleased to let you know that we are able to keep the cost for each attendee at the remarkable low price of just $180 per person. We hope that this will encourage your club to send 1 to 2 additional students. This truly is a life-changing weekend for the students that attend and is well worth every penny spent.
Students will participate in a jam packed, three-day leadership seminar in one of the most pristine settings in Southern California. Through experiential learning exercises they will gain more understanding on topics such as teamwork, cooperation, creativity, compassion and communication. We also include the Rotary Avenues of Service and incorporate the Rotary 4-Way test into the program.
Rotarians and others work tirelessly for 9 months to provide your attendees with the most incredible leadership weekend of their young lives. Our District would be lost if we did not have such dedicated people on our RYLA committee. As such, we need your help. We need you to do your part by helping us meet our deadlines. We need to purchase supplies in advance of the event and make reservations based on the number of attendees committed. By committed, we mean PAID for.
This is why it is necessary for you to get your payment in ASAP (with deadline of December 20th, 2011 to avoid $20 late fee). RYLA is a gift to youth and youth is a gift to Rotary. Every year, far too much time is spent chasing after Rotary clubs simply to receive commitment/payment. Please help us out by sending payment as soon as your club can cut a check. This will give us more time to dedicate to the overall program, again, making it just that much more meaningful to each attendee.
