Richard Martinez joined Houston Airports in August of
2007. As Aviation Analyst, he is
responsible for conducting secondary and primary research in areas of economic
and demographic information, commercial air service, and aviation industry
trends. His analysis, reports, and
briefs support a broad range of activities for Houston’s three airports, with
emphasis on growing the passenger, cargo, and competition base of scheduled air
service.
Prior to coming to Houston Airports, Richard Martinez
spent approximately 11 years with Continental Airlines, Inc. Three years were served in Corporate Security
as an Investigator at Houston Intercontinental Airport in asset protection,
loss prevention, and regulatory compliance under the U.S. Custom’s Super
Carrier Program. He spent 8 years as a
Regional Manager for Catering Operations overseeing approximately 43 cities in
23 countries.
His background includes being a Mariner in oceanic
seismic survey operations, as well as being the Chief Investigator for the
Houston SPCA. He holds a Bachelor of
Science in Criminal Justice.
Richard was born in Houston and is of Spanish and Puerto
Rican descent. He is a Houston area
resident, with his wife Glenys and two children Antonio and Joshua.
