Gloria Hom has recently retired from her position as Chairperson of the Economics Department at Mission College.
Gloria’s public service is extensive. She has received awards for and served on the Board of many organizations, including the California State University Board of Trustees, California Board of Education, U.S. Department of Education the White House Conference on Libraries and Information Service, the Sallie Mae Board, State Teachers’ Retirement System and served as Chairperson of the Santa Clara County Republican Party.
Terry Christensen retired from San Jose State University. A specialist on state and local politics, he is the author or co-author nine books reflecting his years of teaching and participation in local politics. He chaired the Department of Political Science from 1993 to 2002. In 1998, he was named SJSU’s Outstanding Professor. Under his supervision, nearly 1,600 political science students have completed internships in state and local politics and government and hundreds of his students have pursued careers in public service, including local government, elected office and nonprofit community organizations. Most recently, he was the founding Executive Director of CommUniverCity San José, a partnership between a neighborhood near campus, SJSU and the City of San José in which students carry out service learning projects to further the goals set by neighborhood residents.
