Welcome to the Rotary District 5360 Website
www.rotary5360.ca

District 5360 is located in Canada and includes all of the Rotary clubs in Alberta from Ponoka south and also clubs in the south-west region of Saskatchewan.

District Governor: Mike French
District Administrator: Sue Williams 403-670-2624

Mike's Mind HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all; I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and festive season relaxing with family and friends. A well rested Rotarian is a Rotarian that needs to be put back to work, so let’s get at it!
We have a great deal to accomplish in the next couple of months or so. RI President Kalyan Banerjee will be visiting us before we know it. The “Million Dollar Dinner” will be the highlight of his visit and if you haven’t heard him speak then you should.

District Governor Mike French is inviting you to qualify for the Million Dollar Dinner by contributing$10,000 US or more to the Rotary Foundation.

It is easier than it sounds because there are options to contribute now, contribute over time, or contribute in the future.

All you need to do is select one of the following five options and pull the appropriate supporting information and application form.

1.      Make a single donation of $10,000 US or more to the Rotary Foundation

2.      Join the Paul Harris Society and make a 10 year commitment of $1,000 US per year to the Rotary Foundation

3.      Changethe beneficiary on an existing Life Insurance policy to include a minimum of $10,000 US to the Rotary Foundation

4.      Initiate a new Life Insurance policy to include a minimum of $10,000 US to the Rotary Foundation

5.      Make a change to a Will to include a new bequest of a minimum of $10,000 US to the Rotary Foundation

The University of Lethbridge Rotaract Club will host “Guir Ku Baai – Building Peace through Education”, its 7th Annual Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday 4 February 2012 in the Grand Ballroom at the Lethbridge Lodge.

The dream is the construction of a school building in the South Sudan community of Abouk (pronounced Ab-wark) to assist the children of the 5,000 resident community, which will help up to 600 young people with their education. Since each Canadian dollar is worth three South Sudan pounds, the funds raised in Canada will go a long way to help build the facility, mainly to acquire materials not available in Abouk, such as sheet metal for the roof, and the forms, and other resources to construct the brick walls and flooring.

  • Tickets are $65 each, or $450 for a table of eight.
  • Students may purchase a ticket for $40.
  • Silent auction items, gifts-in-kind, and monetary donations are also appreciated.
  • Please contact rotaract@uleth.ca to purchase tickets.

District 5360 Rotarians are going to trek to the Mt. Everest base camp next April.
Learn all about it out at the Rotary Everest Trek website.

The need: Help The Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation (SEHF) build a school to educate Nepali children - the only school in the region to offer a high school science curriculum. With your help deserving students, regardless of their family’s financial resources, can acquire a grade 12 diploma … and an opportunity for a better life.

Each treker must raise $2500 for the SEHF.
This money is NOT to cover their expenses.
Help them by making your donation here.

FYI Here's a District 5360 Power Point all about it.
