Carl Chinnery and Kenny Harris

Past District Governor Carl Chinnery, a member of the Lee’s Summit Rotary Club, was nominated for and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award.  This award is an internationally competitive award granted annually to a maximum off fifty Rotarians who have exhibited exceptional active service to The Rotary Foundation.  To qualify for this award, Rotarians must demonstrate a broad range of service over an extended period of time.

Charlotte Ruoff, a member of the Independence, MO Rotary Club since 2002, was nominated for and awarded Rotary’s coveted “Service Above Self” Award.  This special award is awarded to only 150 Rotarians worldwide, out of over 1.2 million Rotarians, who truly exemplify Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self.

Delegates from Rotary’s 532 districts, meeting for the 2013 Council on Legislation in Chicago, approved a $1-a-year increase in per capita dues, removed limits on e-clubs, and changed the name of the Fifth Avenue of Service to Youth Service.
