Room Reservations for District Conference Available!
Another block of rooms have been released but are limited in supply. I have included the tax in the rates. Register right away to get these low rates.
Call 1 800 955 2754, option #1, and ask to make a reservation within the Rotary group block between 9 AM and 9 PM. Tell them you want to make a room reservation for the Rotary Conference June 13 thru 15.
There are other rooms available that will sleep more for higher rates if you prefer. There is also a “room share” accommodation available.
Greek Peak has agreed to offer room sharing at the Lodge. These rooms normally sleep six or eight which means they have 3 or 4 beds.
If you would like to share a room with 2 or 3 other people of the same sex you may do so for a two night stay at $ 155.63 including taxes.
Each person will have their own bed. Greek Peak will assign the room mates.
You must E-Mail Jill Barano: email@example.com if you want to “room share” Do not call!

How you can help the people of Burma (Myanmar)
Many of the Rotary Clubs in our area have supported The Burma School Project over the last few years. Bob Aagre from the Nimmonsburg club organized the effort and travels each year at his own expense to Burma (Myanmar) to assist a tuition-free school for the poorest children in the central part of the south Asian country.

Dear Rotarian Friends:
In behalf of the Rotary Club Tapachula Centenario and The Salvation Army Street Children's Refuge, I would like to thank you all for your contribution to make this dream come true. Without you, it would be impossible to make it. Now around 60 kids chairs to sit on, tables to eat in, and beds to sleep in, a fridge to keep their veggies and fruits fresh and a stove to cook them.
We are almost done; we still have about 30 hundred dollars left to install the industrial stove and the bread oven. With the bread oven they are going to bake bread to sell it, and have some income. This way the project becomes sustainable.
I'm sending you the link of my one drive with pictures of the refuge. Xavier Sanchez
Thank you all.

Program Ideas for Sharing
Some programs that have been interesting to the Unidilla club are:
-Thomas Sears and Radu Cristea presented about Faces of Freedom, Lives of Courage a book they wrote of first-hand accounts of life and persecution in communist Romania.
-Spence and Judy Gridley have an excellent program on the Discover America trip that the foreign exchange students go on in the summer.
-Don and Janice Tuttle can present on our club's current matching grant project - an educational project in Lesotho, Africa
-and, this is more general, but our high school does a musical every year and we've been inviting the students to do a command performance of a song or two at our meetings.
I hope to hear of other potential presentations from other clubs.

Thoughts from an Exchange Student about their year in the USA
Exchange is change. Sudden, brutal, beautiful, hurtful, amazing, unexpected, overwhelming and most of all: constant change. Change in country, language, lifestyle, friends, parents, houses, school… simply everything.
Exchange is realizing that everything you knew before was wrong, but also right in a way.
