Since the mid 80s Rotary and its partners have been working hard to make history by eradicating the crippling disease Polio from our planet. While Australia is currently Polio free, it remains only one plane trip away from us. 2010 saw cases of Polio worldwide reduced to 1,352, a 99% reduction since starting! Millions of Rotary volunteer hours have been donated to achieve this result. Donate to support this project 'Click on the Red Button'
| | Posted by Graham Fussen on Nov 05, 2011 Success in ridding the world of this disease will help to create stability, productivity and prosperity, writes Bill Gates. A continued campaign since October 24th - 'World Polio Day', a day set aside to remember a disease most of us have forgotten is helping to raise donations to support this great project. People rarely consider polio in places like Australia and the United States, and that's a good thing. It's a sign that we've been making progress, eliminating polio in one country after another. | | Posted by Graham Fussen on Nov 16, 2011 Many philanthropists say it is more difficult to give money away intelligently than it is to earn it. As charities’ financial practices make headlines, many donors are concerned about how their money is used. | | Posted by Graham Fussen on Oct 23, 2011 The Rotary Club of Tea Tree Gully has challenged Clubs in the Northern area of District 9500 to a Ten Pin Bowling Challenge on Saturday Night 12th November at Elizabeth Bowl.
